A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the fatal hit and run in Bonteheuwel on Sunday.
Community members were left traumatized after the allegedly drunken suspect came speeding down Bonteheuwel Avenue and hit two pedestrians before crashing into a wall.
The impact flung the body of 18-year-old Tatum Hendricks onto the roof of a nearby house. Despite being rushed to hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. Police say the suspect is due face charges of reckless and negligent driving, and culpable homicide in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court today.
